The chapter explores the pedagogical potential of authentic English-language cartoons as effective tools for developing English language competence among primary school students. Emphasizing the importance of integrating real-life cultural and linguistic materials into foreign language education, the authors analyze the multifaceted benefits of using animation—ranging from enhanced listening and speaking skills to improved motivation and cultural awareness. The text outlines theoretical foundations, key methodological approaches, criteria for selecting appropriate materials, and practical classroom strategies for effective cartoon-based learning. A variety of cartoon genres and educational series are reviewed, with specific examples and recommendations for age-appropriate use. The chapter concludes by highlighting how systematic application of cartoons can foster communicative competence and enrich the overall language learning experience.
